Sébastien Schneiter is the driver and a co-founder of the Swiss SailGP Team. He helped launch the project in 2021 and has led it from the wheel since the team's league debut in Season 3 — at the time, the youngest driver on the SailGP start line.

A product of Lake Geneva sailing and the Société Nautique de Genève, Schneiter built his career in the 49er skiff, representing Switzerland at three Olympic Games: Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. That Olympic discipline — split-second decisions in a boat that punishes hesitation — is the foundation of his driving style on the F50.

Under his leadership the team has grown from newcomer to genuine contender, reaching its first event final in Portsmouth in 2025 and returning to the podium in Halifax in 2026. In September, he gets the moment every Geneva sailor dreams of: driving the Swiss F50 at the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix, at home on Lake Geneva.
