Bryan Mettraux holds what many in the fleet consider the hardest job on the F50: flight controller. He manages the ride height of the boat — keeping the hulls flying centimetres above the water at over 90 km/h, where the smallest correction decides whether the team gains a boat length or crashes off the foils.
Mettraux grew up racing on Lake Geneva and came through the Swiss lake circuits alongside many of his current teammates. He campaigned the 49er with Sébastien Schneiter, and the pair represented Switzerland together at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games — a partnership that now translates directly into the near-telepathic coordination between driver and flight controller on the F50.
