Nils Theuninck is the team’s reserve athlete — the sailor who has to be ready to step into any seat, at any event, at race pace. In a 13-event season that crosses five continents, depth in the squad is not a luxury: it is part of how a campaign stays competitive from January to the Grand Final.
A product of Swiss Olympic-class sailing, Theuninck trains alongside the crew throughout the season, matching the physical standards of the race team and staying current on the F50’s systems so that a substitution costs the team nothing on the water.
